The 1400BR Series Compound Microscopes are the flagship of the VanGuard line. Combining top performance with highly-advanced features and optics, the 1400 Series models produce images of the utmost clarity.

Binocular (Seidentopf) viewing heads rotate 360° with 30° inclined eyepiece. All models feature interpupillary and dioptric adjustments.
Eyepieces are 10X Widefield (DIN), Field number 18. Objectives are manufactured to DIN standards and are coated.

Nosepieces are quadruple or quintuple, reversed, extra-large, ball bearing nosepiece with a wide, knurled grip for easy operation. They also features high-grade lubricant and positive stops. Delivering a high level of fluid motion control and longevity, the stage measures 140mm x 140mm (5.5in x 5.5in). A removable spring-clip slide holder and a chemical-resistant finish round out the stage. Motion is controlled with a right-hand, low-position, rack and pinion coaxial control. Focus Movement is coaxial, ultra low-position coarse and fine focus controls which are graduated to 2 microns per division with a 40mm focusing range with safety auto stop feature.

The 1400BR Series condenser is a 1.25 N.A. Abbe condenser mounted in a rack and with a pinion focusing mechanism, spring-loaded centering knobs, iris diaphragm, and swing-in filter holder. The illumination is transmitted 20W variable quartz halogen light source which comes with blue and neutral density (frosted) filters. The base is a stable 225mm x 160mm (8.9in x 6.3in) design and is fitted with anti-skid rubber feet. Attached to the base, the body is ergonomic, cast metal with stain-resistant enamel finish.
