Dirt continuously impact, and are absorbed by, HVAC insulation. Once particulates enter into the insulation, it is almost impossible to clean. In addition to being a source of odors, fiberglass particles are known to slough off on occasion, causing environmental concerns.

If odor and long drying time has made you hesitate to use HVAC coatings, you've been waiting for Flex Seal. Flex Seal's low odor and fast drying time gives you a real advantage in coating insulation, and the interior and exterior of HVAC systems. Water-based Flex Seal is free of odor producing additives.

Simply apply it with a brush or roller, or use a airless sprayer. You'll get from 75 to 150 square feet of coverage per gallon, depending on the porosity on the surface and the thickness of the application. We suggest a coating thickness of 16 to 30 wet mils. Flex Seal will be dry to the touch in about 2 hours, depending on temperature and humidity.

Flex Seal is breathable. It will allow water vapor to pass through its structure, so any moisture still resident inside insulation will be allowed to evaporate out.

Flexibility and abrasion resistance allows you to wipe or scrub surfaces sealed with Flex Seal, so you can have a well maintained unit.

Flex Seal is ASTM certified zero (0) Flame Spread - will not support combustion.
