Automatic Polarimeters

Schmidt+Haensch Polarimeters for measuring optical activity and concentration of optically active solutes

Designed to measure the optical activity and concentration of optically active solutes, these microprocessor-controlled devices feature continuous measurement, automatically updated readouts, and a halogen lamp and interference filters to define up to five analyzing wavelengths. The analyzer is directly coupled to an optical encoder, ensuring high accuracy and linearity, and eliminating backlash problems.
The most important application is the analysis of sugar (measurement using the international unit of the sugar scale °S). But this instrument can be used in the analysis of many optically active substances.
