Users can program the timer to count either up or down from a maximum of 100 hours with one-second resolution. When operating in countdown mode, the timer automatically begins tracking elapsed time once the programmed interval expires, making it easy to determine how much additional time has passed since the alarm occurred.

Upon reaching zero, the instrument activates an extra-loud audible alarm, flashes a "TIME'S UP" message on the display, and begins counting upward. This feature helps ensure critical timing events are not missed, even in busy laboratory or production environments.

The built-in memory function stores the most recent timing setting, allowing operators to quickly repeat commonly used procedures without re-entering timing values. A dedicated numeric keypad further simplifies programming and minimizes setup time.
