United Scientific Current Balance
Classic apparatus for demonstrating and measuring the small force exerted on a current‑carrying conductor in a magnetic field. One half of the balance is positioned inside a solenoid, while the opposite arm includes an adjustable counterweight and can hold light calibration masses. When current is applied to both the balance and the solenoid from an external power supply, the balance deflects. Restoring equilibrium by adding small masses allows direct measurement of the magnetic force on the conductor.
